Greetings, Goods Vendors! 


At the beginning of August, our team said a fond farewell to Jacob Hawkins, who served as Goods GM since the beginning of January 2016. We thank Jacob for his leadership and wish him all the best as he moves on to pursue new opportunities outside of Groupon. 


As the newly appointed GM of Goods North America, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Nikhil Sagar, and I’ve most recently been responsible for Goods strategy, pricing, and analytics. I have 15 years of experience working in the manufacturing and retail supply chain domain, with a strong history of building collaborative vendor partnerships. I believe our Vendor Ops and buying teams are on a great track with the improvements that have been made in close partnership with our vendors, and I’m looking forward to all the great opportunities that lie ahead of us. Gateway Updates


Claimed Warranties In Gateway

Please reference the below resource for information on how to input claimed warranty information in Gateway. It is particularly important to add the proof of warranty URL. Without this, the warranty will not appear in the Fine Print on your deal page.

Gateway Drop-Ship Q3 Onboarding Deadline

A reminder that all Drop Ship vendors must be transitioned to the Gateway platform by the end of Q3 to continue doing business with Groupon Goods. Announcements & Merchandising Updates


Deeper Site Navigation Path

Goods Taxonomy is working on expanding the site-facing taxonomy by two additional levels, creating improved browse experience and optimizing site-level search. This expansion allows us to enhance visibility by better delivering category-specific deals to customers. By end of September we expect to see an expansion of four major site-level categories: For the Home, Jewelry & Watches, Health & Beauty, and Women’s Fashion. This project will continue through Q1 where remaining categories will be assessed for expansion. Stay tuned for changes ahead!


Groupon Vendor Satisfaction Questionnaire

Goods Vendors will have the opportunity to give anonymous feedback on the vendor experience when the VSAT questionnaire is sent to inboxes in late September. You can offer your thoughts on the Gateway platform, recent Goods products and initiatives, and your Goods business partnerships. There may also be additional opportunities to give more detailed Gateway feedback in the coming months. You can ensure the VSAT reaches your inbox by adding gmerchantsurveys@groupon.com to your address book in advance. 


Groupon Custom Product Photography

Did you know Goods vendors have access to our professional in-house photography team to create high-quality imagery for your products? Groupon imagery is shot to emphasize key product selling points, is zoom capable, and adheres to all site template specifications. Vendor Ops/Logistics Updates

Pay When Ship

In July, we updated how we calculate invoice terms. Since the change, payment terms will begin once a shipment has shown first movement in the carrier system. Please be sure you are using a Groupon approved carrier/service. See the chart below for reference. You can reach out to your Account Manager with any questions. If you are unsure of who your account manager is, please submit a support ticket via Vendor Help Desk

Remittance Center

The Commerce Interface Remittance Center was updated in July to provide more detailed reporting of vendor invoices. The updates allow vendors to break down each invoice at an order level. See below for the new columns that have been added to the Export, and feel free to reach out to your Account Manager with any questions.



Express Delivery

Groupon wants to offer Express Shipping on all of the drop ship deals, particularly Groupon paid drop ship parcels. To this end, all merchants are urged to work with their account managers to enable Express Shipping on their accounts as soon as possible. We need vendors to prepare for shipping express orders with a faster turnaround time in preparation for the Holiday Season. To participate in the Express Delivery program, you must also participate in Delivery Estimates. If you have questions about your eligibility and how to get on-boarded onto the program, please reach out to your account manager or email vendorops@groupon.com. 


Co-Op

Our teams are putting the finishing touches on a revamped Co-op process that will be automated in Gateway, significantly streamlining the current process. Buyers will still discuss contractual terms with vendors before the automated portion of the process begins in Gateway. Look for more information on the new Co-op process in October.
