We recently introduced you to your Account Management team, and this week we'd like to introduce you to your Buying team and let them share a little bit about themselves. The Buyers are your primary contacts for product planning and promotions, deal content and contract negotiations. Feel free to reach out with any questions you have!



How long have you been a Buyer with Groupon Goods?


Kayce Doogs: Senior Buyer - 4 years 


Meredith Kogler: Buyer - 6 months


Tatiana Blair: Associate Buyer - 2.5 years


What product categories does the Computing & Office team cover?


As a team we cover everything from laptops, desktops, tablets and all of the accessories that come with them. We also cover office electronics and supplies such as printers, scanners, notebooks, and pens. Each Buyer manages separate brands & products:


Kayce Doogs: Apple Hardware - MacBooks & iPads


Meredith Kogler: Non-Apple Hardware & Accessories


Tatiana Blair: Office Electronics & Supplies


What does a buyer do in the course of the day?


We negotiate contracts with our vendor partners to build out our product assortment. Each team member focuses on negotiating the particular brands that they are responsible for. Usually if you make plans to come to meet us in our Chicago office, all three of us will welcome you, but we each manage our own assortment and communicate with the vendors for those products. 


When should vendors contact their buyer?


Please get in touch whenever you have a new product you would like to list on the Groupon site. Let us know if you have any currently live deals you would like to push in an upcoming marketing event - from there we will negotiate co-op support with you, a required step in our marketing process.


If you ever have questions or concerns regarding orders, shipping, or customer service please reach out to your Account Managers- Buyers do not have the visibility into this side of the process.


What info should vendors provide about a new product they have available?


We always need to know the product cost and the number of units you have. This helps us prioritize by deal potential and determine which products we can slate for marketing assets.


What is your favorite thing about being a buyer?


Kayce Doogs: I love staying up to date on current technologies & attending trade shows.


Meredith Kogler: I’ve loved taking ownership of a category and watching it grow into a sustainable business.


Tatiana Blair: I really enjoy following current product trends.


What is your favorite thing about Goods vendors?


Kayce Doogs: I really enjoy creating a trusting partnership with vendors and knowing we’re both enjoying the successful results of our work.


Meredith Kogler: I love meeting different types of people and engaging with them to grow a business.
