The reason(s) your product was rejected can be found by hovering your cursor over the red “Rejected” box next to your product name. Example below:

 


Rejection reasons can be due to pricing, ratings, data validation, or content issues.


Pricing, Ratings, and Data Validation


Universal ID is missing

  • Problem: Your product doesn't have a valid Product Identifier (and Product Identifier Type)
  • Solution: Add Product ID (and Product ID type)


Category is missing

  • Problem: Your product does not have a category
  • Solution: Assign a Category ID to your product using the category field in Gateway UI or using the bulk upload tool.


Options variants duplicate another options

  • Problem: One of your product options has the same attributes as another option
  • Solution: Identify which product option has duplicate attributes and assign the correct attributes to that option.


Product description has invalid HTML markup

  • Problem: The HTML in your product description is broken
  • Solution: Identify the HTML your description and fix or delete the broken text.


Manufacturer is missing

  • Problem: The manufacturer field in your product is empty
  • Solution: Add product manufacturer


LTL shipping is not allowed

  • Problem: Your product is marked as LTL and you are not set up as an LTL vendor
  • Solution: Contact your buyer or account manager or Submit a Vendor Help desk Ticket to request that your account be set up to support LTL; Uncheck the LTL box in your product's Details page or use the bulk upload tool to update if your product can be shipped non-LTL


At least one product in this multi-variation product group has no attributes

  • Problem: The product does not have any attributes associated with it
  • Solution: Ensure that all products have at least one attribute assigned


Freight Cost Unavailable

  • Problem: The shipping option on your account does not support shipping your product
  • Solution: Email your account manager or Submit a Help desk ticket to confirm that the shipping option(s) on your account is set up correctly

 

Product requires manual approval

  • Problem: There is a legal issue with this product and it cannot be approved at this time
  • Solution: Submit a Help desk ticket in order to get the status of your product's approval


Product must not contain hazardous materials

  • Problem: Product contains hazardous materials
  • Solution: None, this product cannot be offered on Groupon at this time


Market data missing

  • Problem: Your product is going through a market pricing and ratings check process
  • Solution: This rejection reason will be removed in 24-48 hours automatically


Merchant is not active

  • Problem: Your account is not active
  • Solution: Reach out to your buyer or account manager to understand your account status. 


Option is not available to Groupon

  • Problem: This product cannot be offered on Groupon for any number or reasons
  • Solution: None, this product cannot be offered on Groupon at this time


Product's MRT has no tax code or its Merchant's shipping address is incomplete

  • Problem: There is an issue with this products underlying information
  • Solution: Submit a Help desk ticket in order to get this rejection fixed


Refurbished products can not be listed for this category.

  • Problem: This product is listed as "refurbished" in a category that does not allow refurbished products
  • Solution: Move product to a category that allows refurbished products; Groupon may not be allow refurbished products of this type.


Product Group must have at least one image.

  • Problem: There are no images present on the product group level
  • Solution: Add one or more images to the product group at the top of the page


Cost exceeds suggested retail price

  • Problem: The Unit Price + Shipping/Freight Cost is higher than the MSRP/Reference Price
  • Solution: Lower the Unit Price for this product


Cost must be greater than 0

  • Problem: Unit Price value is 0
  • Solution: Change Unit Price value to a number larger than 0


At least one products in this multi-variation product group has no attributes

  • Problem: There is one or more products in the group that does not have any attributes
  • Solution: Add at least one attributes to all products


Product requires manual approval

  • Problem: Product cannot be offered without approval from a Groupon team member
  • Solution: Contact your buyer or account manager to manually approve the product Group or submit a Help desk Ticket


Cost exceeds price

  • Problem: Sell price is lower than the Unit Price + Shipping/Freight Cost
  • Solution: Lower the Unit Price or Contact your buyer to have the Sell Price changed


Product failed market price check

  • Problem: The automatically set Sell Price is higher than market pricing
  • Solution: Lower the Unit Price or Contact your buyer to have the Sell Price changed


Groupon sell price exceeds suggested retail price

  • Problem: The Sell Price set by Groupon is higher than the MSRP/Reference Price
  • Solution: Contact your buyer to have the Sell Price changed


Estimated shipping cost is missing

  • Problem: There is no shipping cost associated with the product
  • Solution: If shipping on the vendor account, add a Shipping Cost. If shipping on Groupon's account, Contact your buyer to have the Freight Cost added.


Product's MRT has not tax code or its Merchant's shipping address is incomplete


Market ratings too low for this product

  • Problem: The quality on your product is below Groupon standards
  • Solution: No solution; This product cannot be sold on Groupon


Shipping cost must be less than product cost

  • Problem: The shipping cost for your product is higher than the product unit price
  • Solution: Change the shipping cost to a number lower than the product unit price.


Price is too high

  • Problem: Product price is too high
  • Solution: Lower product unit price to create a lower sell price


Price is zero

  • Problem: The Sell Price is set to 0
  • Solution: Contact your buyer to have the Sell Price changed


Manually calculated shipping cost estimate is missing

  • Problem: The product is missing Groupon's shipping cost
  • Solution: Contact your buyer to have this added


Product group has too many products (max of 80)

  • Solution: Provide image for product

  • Problem: Image does not match product description and/or title 
  • Solution: Add and assign correct images for products in the product group


Remove inappropriate images 

  • Problem: Image is inappropriate or violates Adult product guidelines 
  • Solution: Delete images and replace with appropriate images


Provide higher quality images 

  • Problem: Images are blurry, pix-elated, or low quality
  • Solution: Replace existing images with higher quality images


Remove text from images 

  • Problem: Text on Images is prohibited unless it serves some specific & reasonable purpose (eg. test on product box, warranty text document, or sizing text on image)  
  • Solution: Replace existing images with text-free images


Remove trademarks or logos from images 

  • Problem: Image has unnecessary trademarks and/or logos 
  • Solution: Replace existing images with trademark/logo-free images
